classes

Classes at Mudita are rooted in yoga tradition. Here you will find more than physical exercise.
You will soothe and strengthen your body, mind and spirit through breath work, meditation and physical movement.

mudita style

The Mudita Style of yoga is primarily Gentle Yoga that incorporates meditation and restorative practices based on the Hatha Yoga tradition.

What does that mean?

Practice will include a set of physical postures (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) practiced more slowly and with more static holds than a typical flow class (vinyasa). It will also promote deep relaxation and build strength through the use of props like blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps.

Gentle Yoga Mixed Level

Gentle Yoga includes a variety of styles that offer something for all ages and abilities. Movements are slow and mindful, allowing time to move safely in and out of each pose and make adjustments as needed. Props are often used to help with alignment and offer support. Classes typically include both seated and standing poses, along with some flow. Offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 9am, Thursday at 4:30pm and Saturday at 9am.

Mindful Movement + Meditation

Yoga, as we think of it, was designed to help the body sit in meditation for long periods of time. In this class, we engage in gentle movement to release tension and relax the body before moving into a variety of silent and guided meditation and breathing techniques. Offered Wednesday at 6:30pm.

Restorative Yoga + Nidra

Invite the body back into its natural alignment while encouraging a release of deep-rooted muscular tension, stress, and tightness. Your body will be fully supported using props such as bolsters, blankets, straps and blocks to help you experience a deeper state of relaxation to replenish the body’s energy and leave you feeling nourished and calm. This class offers a combination of classic restorative yoga postures followed by 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra (also known as yogic sleep or deep relaxation). Nidra will offer deep relaxation for your entire body, mind, and emotions and help dissolve old patterns. Restorative Yoga + Nidra will complement an active practice or help you decompress after a stressful day. Offered every other Sunday at 6pm (75 minutes).
