Classes
Classes at Mudita are rooted in yoga tradition. Here you will find more than physical exercise.
You will soothe and strengthen your body, mind, and spirit through breath work, meditation, and physical movement.
Mudita Style
The Mudita Style of yoga is primarily Gentle Yoga that incorporates meditation and restorative practices based on the Hatha Yoga tradition.
What does that mean?
Practices include physical postures (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) practiced more slowly and with more static holds than a typical flow class (vinyasa). Classes also promote deep relaxation and build strength through the use of props like blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps.
Class Descriptions
Anthem Restore
Designed specifically for our CrossFit Crew, this 30-minute session resets the nervous system and allows the body to better absorb the benefits of your workout. This gentle practice helps release tension, tightness, and the patterns that keep the body from performing at its optimal level. Suitable for all levels, this practice will quiet the mind and balance the body. Offered Wednesday at 11:30am and 6:00pm.
Gentle Yoga Mixed Level
Gentle Yoga includes a variety of styles that offer something for all ages and abilities. Movements are slow and mindful, allowing time to move safely in and out of each pose and make adjustments as needed. Props are often used to help with alignment and offer support. Classes typically include both seated and standing poses, along with some flow. Offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 9am, and Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00pm.
Mindful Movement + Meditation
Yoga, as we think of it, was designed to help the body sit in meditation for long periods of time. In this class, we engage in gentle movement to release tension and relax the body before moving into a variety of silent and guided meditation and breathing techniques. Offered Wednesday at 6:45pm.
Open Meditation
Open Meditation is an invitation to start the day with intention. The Studio is set with soft lighting and music. Students are welcome to roll out a mat or sit quietly in the lounge area, and can come and go as needed to accommodate their schedule. Open Meditation is a community-based, donation-based offering and is open to all. Offered Monday and Friday 6:30-8:00am.
